DLO’s Transplant Immunology Lab provides clinical histocompatibility testing and immunologic monitoring for solid organ transplantation, disease association, and drug hypersensitivity.
Since it’s inception, DLO’s Transplant Immunology Lab has been the provider of pre-transplantation, transplantation and post-transplantation testing for the INTEGRIS Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute, Oklahoma’s only comprehensive solid organ transplant center. DLO is the only laboratory in Oklahoma to provide human leukocyte antigen (HLA) typing for the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys and pancreas. Through its virtual crossmatching process, which is used when appropriate, donors and recipients are matched more quickly to provide higher chances of a successful transplant by reducing hours of wait time required by traditional crossmatching. Additionally, a final tissue crossmatching is processed to validate the initial findings. DLO’s ability to provide a four-hour STAT Final Tissue Crossmatch could mean everything when working with a donor organ.
