Thus, fecal calprotectin levels may assist in diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease; Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and other disorders characterized by bowel inflammation. It can also be used as an aid in the differentiation of IBD from irritable bowel syndrome.
